Terms of Service
Effective July 28, 2026
The short version
Try CinchQR free for 3 months, no credit card. After that it’s $10 a month to keep your codes live. If you stop paying, scans show a pause notice instead of your content; nothing is deleted, and subscribing again revives every code instantly. Don’t use codes for anything illegal or deceptive, or we’ll turn those codes off.
What CinchQR is
CinchQR lets you create QR codes that open a website, a PDF we host for you, or join a Wi-Fi network. Website and PDF codes point through a short CinchQR link, so you can change where a code goes after it’s printed and see how many times it has been scanned. Wi-Fi codes contain the network details inside the code itself.
Your trial and your subscription
- Free trial: your first 3 months are free. No credit card is required to start.
- After the trial: $10 a month includes up to 3 live QR codes. Need more? Each additional $10 a month unlocks 3 more. Deleting a code frees a slot anytime.
- Cancel anytime. Billing stops at the end of your current month.
What happens if you stop paying
When your trial or subscription ends, your codes pause: scanning one shows a clearly-marked pause notice instead of your content, and you can’t edit codes, create new ones, or see scan counts. Nothing is deleted. Your links, hosted PDFs, and scan history are kept, and subscribing again revives every code instantly; printed codes never change. Wi-Fi codes carry their details inside the code image itself, so they keep working regardless. If we ever shut CinchQR down, we’ll give you at least 12 months’ notice and a way to migrate your codes.
Acceptable use
Because CinchQR codes redirect through our service, we have to be strict about this. You may not use CinchQR to point at, host, or distribute:
- Phishing pages, malware, or scams of any kind.
- Content that is illegal where you or your scanners are.
- Deceptive redirects, meaning a code presented as one thing that sends people somewhere materially different.
- Content that infringes someone else’s copyright or trademarks.
We can disable any code, hosted file, or account that violates these rules, without notice if the risk to scanners is serious. This protection for the people who scan your codes overrides everything else in these terms.
Your content
The links, files, and details you put behind your codes belong to you. You give us permission to store and serve them, which is what makes your codes work. You’re responsible for having the rights to anything you upload and for the accuracy of Wi-Fi details you share.
Our service
We work hard to keep CinchQR fast and available, but we provide it “as is” and can’t promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim related to CinchQR is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Accounts
You sign in with login links sent to your email, or with your Google account. Keep that email account safe; anyone who controls it controls your account. You must be at least 13 to have an account.
Changes to these terms
If we make meaningful changes, we’ll tell you by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Price changes never affect the current billing month.
